Host family accommodation
We have a small number of quality host families who live near the school and enjoy welcoming our clients into their homes and getting to know them. Staying with a host family is a great opportunity to use your English and discover a bit more about British life and culture. We have worked with these families for many years and value the relationships that they establish with our clients.
English @ Oxford offers you the opportunity to take a 'working lunch'. A member of the e@o-Team accompanies you to a quality restaurant during the 1.5 hour lunch period. This enables you to get to know Oxford, your tutor and the English language all at the same time! You can choose to take this option as many or as few times as you like during your training.
Some of our clients prefer to stay in a hotel, where they are more independent and can deal with their business commitments in the evenings. Oxford has a wide range of hotels, from the Burlington House Hotel - excellent value for money with a friendly atmosphere - to luxury hotels such as the Cotswold Lodge and Old Parsonage hotels, where nothing is too much trouble! We have a corporate rate with these hotels and are happy to make reservations for you.
Host family profile
Peggy and her husband, Eddie, have been hosting our clients for many years and are a very popular couple. Peggy even trained as a teacher so that she could give extra help to her guests. They have a lovely house in North Oxford, about 15 minutes from the city centre by bus. The house is always warm and lively, and everyone feels welcome there.
